I think in addition to my newest book, The Stories of Chela Coatlicue Alvarez being fun, moving and memorable, I hope that reading it will help personalize part of the experience of having to cross the border afoot. Since the book is written in the second person, you as a reader may feel intimately connected with Chela’s multi-fold experiences.

There is so much media out there that dehumanizes immigrant youth if not demonizing them.
